Italian parsley is a flat-leaf parsley variety with slender stems and dark leaves, brimming with a fresh, green flavour and aroma. Visually, the leaf of Italian parsley is very similar to coriander.
Popular in the Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cooking, this herb has become popular in cuisine all over the world. The stems are more flavoursome than the leaves and are tender when the plant is young, becoming more woody as it matures.
In comparison to curly parsley, the flavour of Italian parsley is slightly less bitter, whilst the aroma is stronger.
