Casual Class 4 Truck Driver

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Casual Class 4 Truck Driver to support our freight team during a busy period.

This is a casual role, with an expected increase in hours over the next month (approximately 20–40 hours per week), followed by on-call work as required. An ASAP start is essential.

Our drivers are responsible for transporting chilled produce between Cambridge and Auckland, while maintaining a high standard of safety, care, and professionalism.

Location: Start and finish in Tamahere (10 minutes south of Hamilton)

Schedule: Our trucks operate on a 24/7 roster. Shifts will be offered based on operational requirements, including days, nights, and weekends.

Hours: Casual – hours will vary based on business needs

Pay: $30 per hour + 8% holiday pay

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain a commercial chilled truck safely and efficiently
  • Transport goods between Cambridge and Auckland
  • Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment
  • Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company procedures
  • Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records
  • Communicate clearly with dispatchers, customers, and team members
  • Carry out routine vehicle checks and report issues promptly

About You

  • Hold a current Class 4 NZ driver’s licence
  • Have previous truck driving experience in New Zealand
  • Maintain a clean driving record
  • Confident operating and caring for a commercial truck
  • Chiller truck experience is an advantage
  • Flexible and available for short-notice and on-call work
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused
  • Strong communication skills
  • Physically capable of loading and unloading freight
